CCB is paid to assist families with the cost of your child care fees. You can claim Child Care Benefit for approved child care with a registered Family Day Care Educator who has met all the government registration conditions. CCB PERCENTAGE IS BASED ON YOUR FAMILY’S INCOME.
Department of Human Services will issue a CRN (Customer Reference Number) for CCB. The working parent should ring the Department of Human Services and ask for their and the child’s CRN (if the non-working parent rings they may not be eligible for the CCR (Child Care Rebate)). The CRN makes you entitled for a 50% out of pocket expenses refund on the weekly fees you have paid to your Educator. Request to pay your CCR weekly (to your bank account), to reduce your weekly gap fee. You can also choose to have it paid quarterly or as an annual lump sum payment.
Non-working families have assistance with Child Care Benefit of 100%. This will help you with the cost of your child care fees. No 50% rebate refund. Children of non-working families have up to 24 hours of child care a week.
